Mind Tools Expands Focus on ANZ Market Amid Growing Demand for Leadership Development

Mind Tools for Business

Global leadership and management development provider, Mind Tools, is pleased to announce an enhanced strategic focus on the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region as it experiences growing demand for leadership and management development solutions.

David Maitland, Chief Revenue Officer at Mind Tools, explained the company’s decision to further invest in this market:

"Australia and New Zealand are at an exciting inflection point for leadership and development initiatives. The region’s commitment to education ranks it third globally, and we see an incredible opportunity to extend that support to workplace leadership and management development.

“Mind Tools is already seeing significant growth in customer interaction and revenue in the ANZ region, and we believe our management and leadership skills development solutions can play a vital role in supporting businesses as they navigate a competitive and dynamic talent landscape."

According to recent research from HR consultants Robert Half, 91% of Australian businesses are planning to implement new L&D options to retain and upskill their employees. As Australia boasts a vibrant economy and a low unemployment rate, employers are increasingly prioritizing investments in talent development. Workers, too, are placing a premium on growth opportunities, with 43% stating they would reject a job offer that lacked career development potential.

Mind Tools’ own Building Better Managers research has further highlighted the urgency of this need: 50% of managers report they lack sufficient support, and 64% - rising to 78% for new managers - would consider leaving their organizations if they weren’t offered opportunities to grow. The call to invest in leadership and management development has never been louder.

Appointment of Michael Burling as Head of International Business Development

To strengthen its presence in the ANZ market, Mind Tools is excited to announce the appointment of Michael Burling as Head of International Business Development, based in Brisbane, Queensland. As a seasoned Sales Director and General Manager with over 20 years of experience at global brands including Accor, News Corp and TripAdvisor, Michael brings a wealth of leadership and sales expertise to the role.

Michael Burling shared his enthusiasm for joining Mind Tools:

"I am passionate about Leadership and Development and believe growth comes from empowering those around you. I look forward to growing Mind Tools in the ANZ market and globally as I believe our product suite is perfectly suited to help managers and leaders learn critical skills to grow their careers and better support their teams."

David Maitland added:

"Michael’s experience will add more focus and support for our existing customers and the growing region. His leadership will be key in helping Mind Tools deliver on our mission to support managers and leaders with the skills they need to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving workplace."
